Dimasa kachari, are a Tibeto-Burman community presently inhabiting the Indian states of Assam, Nagaland, and some parts of Manipur. In Dimasa society, there are forty male clans and forty-two female clans. The male clans are called Sengphong and the female clans are called Jadi or Julu.

Gotra is commonly used in marriage relations and religious functions. It is believed that marriage should not be done in the same gotra.
