Sengyah  Sambudhan Phonglo (also known as Veer Sambudhan ) was an Indian freedom fighter who fought against the British government for the freedom of India in Assam. Veer Sambudhan Phonglo Born 16 March 1850 Longkhor, Maibang (present-day Assam) Died 12 February 1883 (aged 32) Cachar, India Cause of death Killed by British Regime Nationality Indian Known for Armed resistance against the British goverment Early Life Sambudhan was born into a Dimasa family in Mabang, Assam. His father was Deprondao Phonglo and his mother was Khasaidi Phonglo. They had four young brothers. He spent his childhood era at Longkhor village. History In 1832, the British took control of Southern Cachar, and in 1854 Northern Cachar. Instead of combining the two territories, they annexed them to the district of Nagaon.
