The Karbi (known as Mikir) are an ethnic group of Northeast India mostly inhabited in the hill district of Assam. Karbi language
belongs to the Sino-Tibetan language family spoken in Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal
Pradesh. According to the 2011 census, the Karbi language is spoken by half a
million in Northeast, India.
